Dennis Riehl, a native of California, has been an avid racing sailor for most of his life. Dennis has competed in many West Coast events, such as the San Francisco Bay Big Boat Series five times, the Cabo San Lucas Race ten times, the Transpacific Yacht Race five times, and the Pan Am Clipper Cup two times. He has also raced in the California to Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and Manzanillo races numerous times. Dennis’s extensive background in yachting includes both power and sail, and he has logged over 100,000 miles at sea. Once owning his own 42’ S&S design sailboat, he lived aboard in Maui, HI from 1977 to 1979. His passion for boating started at the young age of 15 when he bought his first boat, a 15’ Snipe sailboat with cotton sails. His passion for boating has continued to this day. Dennis started his brokerage career right after graduating from San Diego State University in 1968. He worked for many years in the California offices of two of the largest international brokerage firms before joining Crow’s Nest Yachts in 2002. Dennis says, “I cannot conceive the idea of retiring. I love what I do–helping people find the right boat. Yachting has afforded my family and me a wonderful life. There is just nothing I can think of that is more fun, adventurous, and rewarding than boating with friends and family and helping clients realize their boating dreams.” In January 2012, Dennis and two business partners purchased the assets of Crow’s Nest Yachts Newport Beach and currently operate that office as an independent business.
